Solid shell drums

One piece of maple steam-bent into a hoop, not glued up from plies. Slingerland's Radio King snare is the famous one, with solid maple reinforcing rings, and its Artist snare was solid maple in the 1960s catalogs. These shells are prized and hard to repair well, so look closely at both edges and anywhere the shell could have split.
